Classic kidcore uses bold primary colors (red, yellow, blue) with green and orange, often combined in rainbow or color-block patterns. Softer pastel versions exist too, and those overlap with fairy kei and kawaii.
Is kidcore the same as clowncore?
No. They share bright colors, but kidcore draws on childhood things like toys, cartoons, stickers and school supplies, while clowncore draws on the circus: polka dots, ruffles, harlequin diamonds and clown makeup. Plenty of outfits mix the two.
